ICIF Professional Culinary Institute shakes hands with Chinese Guizhou Delegation

The Middle Kingdom lands on the sweet hills and savors all their beauties. On May 28th and 29th, ICIF hosted at its Headquarters in Costigliole d’Asti 6 representatives of the Chinese Delegation of the Guizhou Economic and Trade Vocational and Technical College of Duyun.

6 representatives including its President, and Deputy Party Secretary, Mr. LI YUAN BO, the Deputy Director of the Academic Affairs Office Ms. YOU JIANG, the Director of the Human Resources and Education Department Mr. WANG DA QING, the Director of the Teacher Affairs Office Mr. ZHANG HONG BO, the Vice President of the Tourism Management Department Ms. TANG LIN and the teacher of Culinary Arts of the Tourism Management Department Mr. ZHOU WEI. Part of the group also Ms. YANG LI, Administrative teacher at Law Faculty of Renmin University of China, but this time representing the AGIPS office in China, with the aim of assisting the internationalization of this project.
A project coordinated and promoted by a historical collaborator of ICIF, Claudio Medugno, Brand Ambassador for the Food Made in Italy in London and present with his Company CM JOBS Hospitality Recruitment Consulting, and by the President of the Global Association of Italy for Social Promotion of London, Mrs. CAO SHIPING, with the primary aim of sharing the training plan and the opportunities for collaboration, with the representatives of the Costigliolese Institute, at the presence of its President Piero Sassone and the Training Manager Scalet Ilaria, for a three-year project wanted by the Chinese government aimed at the students of the Vocational College of Dayun in the Chinese province of Guizhou, with the hope of seeing them soon busy at the Institute's stoves.

The Chinese delegation received a warm greeting from the Mayor of the Municipality of Costigliole d’Asti, Enrico Cavallero but also later from the Mayor of Asti, Maurizio Rasero, a great admirer of Chinese culture and a promoter of numerous twinnings with the great Middle Kingdom.
Some visits to the excellences of the territory could not be missed, Mariuccia Borio of Cascina Castlet welcomed them in her historic winery where in addition to appreciating exclusive wines such as Uvalino Uceline and the inevitable Barbera, the prince of vines of the sweet hills of Monferrato, walking among the vineyards they imprinted in their memory the unforgettable panorama, a sweet meeting then in the historic artisan chocolate laboratory "Goslino" in Incisa Scapaccino and to conclude the laboratory of production of fresh filled pasta, “Albagnulot” of Isola d'Asti by the 3 chefs Walter Ferretto, Fulvio Siccardi and Diego Pattarino.

The professor of Culinary Arts of the Chinese College, part of the delegation, Mr. ZHOU WEI, also delighted the palates of the ICIF Management, staff and foreign students, with a demonstration of 3 traditional Chinese recipes, including the famous Gong Bao Ji Ding, chicken stir-fried with chili peppers, peanuts, spring onion and other vegetables and spices, the Spicy beef with Houttuynia cordata (a herbaceous plant native to Southeast Asia widely used in both China and Korea as a medicinal remedy) and the Di Cui Shao meatballs filled with mashed potato and served with spicy sauce.
Yet another demonstration of the values promoted by ICIF, the cultural exchange between peoples and nations in order to smooth out the edges of racism, promote the creation of stable and trusting cultural bridges and create a more inclusive society based on the appreciation of diversity and mutual understanding.
